Chief Officers' Public Safety Group

The remit of the Chief Officers' Public Safety Group (COPS) is to provide strategic leadership and scrutiny and implicitly to scrutinise the work of the three public protection business areas on behalf of Fife Partnership; to identify successes and areas for improvement, and in doing so learn from experience, monitor trends and examine comparisons. 

 

The key risk areas that will be overseen and scrutinised by COPS are:

Child Protection

Adults at Risk

Offender Management (specifically Sex Offenders and potentially dangerous offenders)

 

The Group is currently chaired the the Chief Executive of Fife Council and membership includes:-

 

Chief Executive of Fife Council

Chief Executive of NHS Fife

Divisional Commander, Police Scotland

Director of Health and Social Care

Executive Director Education and Children's Services

Locality Reporter Manager, SCRA

Chief Social Work Officer

 

In addition to the membership  COPS are supplemented by attending members including:- 

 

Independent Chair, Child Protection Committee/ Adult Protection Committee/ MAPPA SOG

Lead Officer, Child Protection Committee

Coordinator, Adult Support & Protection Committee

Lead Officer, MAPPA Strategic Oversight Group
