This course is designed for those working with children who may be at risk of, or have been victim of, child sexual abuse. It is focused on staff within Specific and Intensive roles such as; Social Worker, Police Scotland Public Protection Unit, NHS Paediatrician, GP, Health Visitor and Child Protection Coordinators in Education or Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project. Staff should be working in a role where you would support a child during, before and after the IRD process where the case is specifically related to Child Sexual Abuse; physical or non-contact.

It is particularly relevant for professionals who may encounter non-engagement, hostility, or disguised compliance in their practice — including social workers, teachers, health professionals, police officers, early years staff, housing officers, and third sector practitioners. Participants are asked to sign up for an offering in the 12 months after attending in order to allow time for embedding learning into practice and to share reflections and allow longer term evaluation to be captured.
